Drive some traffic to your blog

Posted by Holly On January - 31 - 2008

Yesterday I started using Traffic Era. I got 100 visitors to my blog ABC’s of fine Design. I also added an affiliate link site, but I didn’t see anything happen there so I will be removing it and putting the credits toward this blog.

This is a newer site and I really like it because you can get so many free credits and other things. There market place is not up yet but they offer tokens that you can exchange for more traffic or better surfing.

This is a manual surf. You have to click on numbers in order to move to the next site. That means that people are more likely to read your stuff. So it’s good for a blog. I am hoping that it will help get the word out about this site. Even though I am very happy with the traffic so far. I get around 100 visitors a day and it’s only 3 weeks old!

Social site: world blog cafe

Posted by Holly On January - 30 - 2008

I just joined world blog cafe and it looks like it could be fun. It’s a social site where you can get the word out about your blog. I filled out my profile and have already had a view. We will have to see how this works out. Most of the time I meet interesting people on these sites anyway so at least I will get something out of it.

For now I will see what the click rate is on my links there and see if its worth spending some time at.

Still waiting on project wonderful

Posted by Holly On January - 29 - 2008

I’m starting to think my blog is either to new, or I don’t get enough traffic to be approved for project wonderful. I thought it would be a great addition to this blog. I think after this though I am going to stop with the advertising trials and see what happens with what I have. I don’t want to get too much going on.  I am also going to add it to my design blog. I’m hoping it will work well there.

If you have tried project wonderful how has it worked for you?

The good and bad of widgetbucks

Posted by Holly On January - 28 - 2008

I love my widgetbucks ads they look great and I love the products they have. My only problem with them is that no one clicks on them anymore. At first they did, but I think there has been a lot of bad press about them lately and maybe that is why.

I think I’m going to keep them on my site a little longer, I don’t get much traffic, but I was expecting a lot more from there ads then I’m getting. I do recommend them for high us traffic sites though. I’m sure those are the people who are making the money.

The truth about paid blogging

Posted by Holly On January - 26 - 2008

No this is not some reveal of a scam but a forewarning to people who are interested in paid blogging. There are going to be times where you will not get paid for the work you do. I have had this happen twice this month. Apparently my blog did not talk enough about a category that the advertiser wanted. I did talk about it, just not 20 times that week.

People are picky and you need to remember that when you get into this. I understood there issue, and I rewrote the post a little and removed all but one link, the sites were still helpful to my blog readers, I try to make sure of that.

I’ll just let it go and keep moving. My advice to people who are just starting out in the paid blogging world is to really look at you site and pick categories that the site does fit, but be open to other opinions of your site. I thought mine fit into the category, but maybe it doesn’t? I still make good money doing this so I won’t be stopping just because someone doesn’t agree that my site falls into a category. I will take there opinion into consideration and go from there.

Viral Linking

Posted by Holly On January - 25 - 2008

This is something that I have noticed coming in as a link to one of my other blogs. I wanted to participate but since my main blog everything and anything was on there already I wasn’t getting tagged so I’m putting it on this site since linking is important when building a new site.

Rule #1

Copy all the links below (make sure its alphabetized) and replace a single link under the appropriate alphabet. If your domain name, or even the title of your blog, starts with an ” A,” you’d replace the link under that alphabet and put the replaced link at the bottom. Also, don’t forget to credit the tagger, or where you got the list from, at the end of the list with a full URL of the post so that a pingback gets generated.

  1. acowboyswife.com
  2. bloggingcents.com
  3. caffeine-overload.com
  4. delusionsofgrandeur.org
  5. everythingandanythingblog.com
  6. forumfinder.net
  7. gothic-peach.net
  8. happykeg.com
  9. ipentimento.com
  10. juliesjournal.com
  11. kabalyero.com
  12. ladylike4.com
  13. makinthemoney.com
  14. notjustmama.net
  15. originalmx5.net
  16. patrickdevivo.com
  17. qweddings.com
  18. rowdigrl.com
  19. secretely.net
  20. thesocalledme.net
  21. utada-online.net
  22. valmg.com
  23. wickedbabylon.com
  24. xaviermedia.com
  25. yimto.com
  26. zbudapest.com

Replaced link:michaelpark.net

Previous tagger: Secretely.net

Rule #2

You now have to “tag” at least five people and encourage them to participate so that this thing spreads like a virus. Remember, though, that not everyone’s into these kinds of things, so don’t be upset if they don’t participate. Just simply replace your tag. Remember to tag blogs only and no pornographic ones as we do want to keep the integrity as a blogging community. TIP: Tag your frequent EntreCard droppers via its messaging system.

Toast and Egg Me

Rule #3

Just like any other “meme” out there, ask a question for your taggees to answer along with your own answer to the previous question. This is optional.

It’s early and I can’t think of anything sorry! you can ask me questions though!

Getting traffic

Posted by Holly On January - 24 - 2008

I’ve been using a few different ways to get traffic to all of my blogs. On this one I have only used stumble upon and entrecard. I am happy with the results so far but I’m thinking I’m going to have to up the advertising. I’m trying though not to spend much at first on this blog. Mostly because I want more content before I start spending a lot of cash.

I have a friend of mine who runs a pay to click site, I have decided that I will start advertising in her emails. She has many members and is a great admin. If your interested in advertising with her check out bang the links. They have very cheep advertising and you can reach thousands of people.

I will of course keep track of what happens with this and let you all know. If this works out I will probably try a few others. I started out using sites like these to make money, but once I found blogging I stopped using them. Now I see the advertising benefit.
