Make Money Watching Movies
Yes this is real. Here is the deal with Movie theater auditing. This is something I do and have done for just over 4 years. I enjoy it because my job does change, I get to watch at least one free movie over the weekend and it pays well. I make anywhere between $150 and $300 in a weekend. Others I have run into on jobs have made over $700 in one weekend.
The big thing with this is that you have to be able to work all weekend. That means no parties or other weekend events. Yes after time you can start to let them know you are busy, but if you do that right away they will just stop hiring you. All you usually have to do is count the number of people going in to the movie you are assigned to. Sometimes the company will have you do more then that. It really just depends on what the client wants.
The following are a list of a few companies that do theater auditing.

Holly,
I am very interested in these opportunities for my wife. She is a stay at home mom and is looking for opportunities like this. Can you tell me more about your experience with these companies, specifically the legitimacy of them. I’m afraid to get caught up in a fake mystery shopping scam thing.

I have worked with certified field associates for about 3 years and have been paid every time. TNS I have done restaurant shops for, that is another part of their company and I have just signed up with their theater auditing section. I did meet a women a few weeks ago during a audit who has worked for them for about 10 years.
LRA I have just signed up with but I found them though the mspa website. If your wife is interested in shopping she should start there. Never pay to shop!

For the movie audits you can do trailer checks, open checks and closed checks. There are a few other types but these are the more common ones. For trailer checks you go in and write down the trailers for a movie and leave. Open checks involve counting how many people watch each showing of a movie over the weekend. Closed checks are done undercover without the theater knowing you are there.

I just signed up for the tns but I was wondering about how much notice do you get for the assignments and how much on average do you get paid.

Most of the time I get the call on Monday for the upcoming weekend. As for pay it depends on the company. TNS I believe pays $10 per showing per theater so if you count 2 theaters that have 5 showings each you get $100 for the day. Some companies have a set price for the day and they add on so much per theater.
Good luck!

do you actually sit through the entire movie or do you simply stay there until it starts?

It depends on the company some would like you to stay. usually I just stay for the first 20 minutes of each showing.
