New look!

Posted by Holly On June - 11 - 2008

I finally have a new look that I really like. I hope you do too. I wanted something a little simpler then what I had before and of course more colorful. It’s still a work in progress so you will be seeing some more changes. If you have any suggestions let me know.

Summer time and fixing things up

Posted by Holly On June - 6 - 2008

It’s summer and everyone is out enjoying themselves. I’m not because it’s 9am and already 80 outside! it wouldn’t be too bad if it wasn’t so humid. Anyway I have been doing some reading and I have figured out that summer really is a slow time online. You would think with kids out of school it wouldn’t be, but it seems that people still go outside! It’s amazing.

I have decided that since things seems to slow down a little right now that it will be a good time to change things up a bit on my blogs and in other areas. I’ve already started a few things such as stopping my forum blogger love. No one was talking and it just was not worth my time. I am thinking of starting a get paid to forum, but I want a good set up and the invision power board. That cost money and I may have to find someone who can set up all the extra stuff like referral links, landing page and so on. I want it ready to go when it launches. This all depends on if an online friend of mine wants to continue with her forum. If she doesn’t I may see if I can buy it from her and use that one or just start my own.

Pretty much I’m telling you that things will be changing here on this blog and others I have. Please let me know if there is anything you like or don’t like. I’ll take it into consideration. Are you doing any summer fixing? If so feel free to link to your updated site I would love to take a look.

Swat cash and free advertising

Posted by Holly On June - 4 - 2008

Swat cash decided this month to give away 50 free clicks in their paid to click section to all members. This is great as I am always looking for a way to get some extra traffic and exposure. The catch to this giveaway is that you have to be a member so sign up and check them out.

I love Swat Cash because they give away so much. Every week they give away $1000 to one lucky forum member who has 50 vialed post or more. They also have some great contest and other fun prizes. I’m also addicted to their map game where you can attack other members and earn points. All and all a fun time and they actually pay unlike most sites. I’ve been with them for a long time now and have made well over $1000 with them.

Paid blogging and ignorance

Posted by Holly On June - 3 - 2008

Something I have been noticing more and more is that advertisers on most paid to blog companies are requiring that you don’t have any links, post or even mention Pay per post, IZEA and so on. I find this funny as they seem to think they they will be harmed in some way. The only thing so far that I have seen is that bloggers have been smacked by google, not the advertisers.

What I find funny is this. I have a blog that has pr, but has been banned by advertisers because I do work for Pay Per Post. This blog was Google smacked at one point, but here is the thing. I didn’t change what I did, I kept doing paid post and really in my opinion Google can bite me as Pay Per Post and Izea have made me more money then Google ever will.  Anyway back to my point.

Many bloggers use different companies and personally I think that the paid to blog companies that allow an advertiser to put this requirement in their advertisement are really making themselves look bad. I am probably not going to be using the company that allowed my blog to be banned anymore as I really am unimpressed with them anyway. I think in the past year I have done 6 jobs for them but with pay per post I have done over 200.

These are some of the decisions you have to make as a blogger. For me Pay Per Post is the main way I make money. I’m not going to drop them to make less and the sooner these advertisers see that the better off they will be as there are some very good bloggers they are missing out on because they are scared of google.
