Do Not Use Buy Blog Reviews

Posted by Holly On August - 19 - 2008

If you are looking into paid blogging I suggest that you do not use Buy Blog Reviews, At first they were fine, I got paid granted not in the time frame they said I would, but it was only 2 weeks later so i was not that upset, Now it is almost 2 months later and I still do not have a payment owed from them. I have emailed and still nothing. I have decided that I will not be doing work for them again and probably will never see the $40 owed to me. I have tried contacting them, but I have not received a reply yet.

My advice if your looking for places to blog would be to join a blogging company that has been around for a while. Do research on them and make sure they have paid for a while. You can of course join newer companies, just don’t expect to ever see your money when you start, if you get it, great if you don’t then do what I’m doing and let others know.

Pictures do not help

Posted by Holly On August - 12 - 2008

I have not had one visitor looking for the pictures I have posted. So my opinion now is that this only works if you are already high up in search rankings. I won’t be subjecting you to celebrity pictures anymore.

I have noticed that this blog is getting noticed more for other things and I’m happy to see that. It seems that work I did a few months ago is paying off now. Sometimes you just have to remember to wait and see what happens. Not everything works as soon as you put it out there. Today I was on a forum talking about blogging and money. It seems that people still think it’s easy and doesn’t take much time. What do you think?

The Importance Of SEO

Posted by Holly On August - 4 - 2008

So many people talk about page rank. You would think it actually meant something, yes that’s right it doesn’t mean anything. Yes some advertisers use it, but the big names that you want on your website or blog do not care about page rank. What they do care about is how many people actually read your blog or website and click on the links you have. That is what gets them sales, that is what makes them money.

If you have a wordpress blog you need to install the all in one SEO pack. This thing is a lifesaver and makes SEO very easy. You still have to get links and everything for yourself, but if you stop looking at page rank it will be very easy to do. Also if you find out how much competition you have for keywords it will allow you to chose keywords that are not as competitive. Example. My Interior design Blog where I have home decor tips is ranked in the top 100 in both yahoo and Google. Not bad considering it was once in the top 15 in yahoo without me doing any SEO. What I have done though is found that not many people search for interior design tips, but they do search for home decor tips. So I have changed my keywords to fit that topic.

I have been doing this for about 3 weeks. During the last two weeks I have been asked by 3 companies to do reviews for them. This is what brings you traffic and can get you clicks on not only the compines links that asked for the review, but maybe even those affiliate links you have hidden on your site.

Makeing Money Online Is Not Easy

Posted by Holly On July - 30 - 2008

That was something that I just read from someone trying to make money online. This person has been working hard and was told it was easy and anyone can do it. Well I’m telling you it’s not and not everyone can do it. It takes time hard work and some investment.

Now if your just looking for $50 a month spending money that’s different, but if you really want to make an income you may be able to live off of, now that’s a whole other story. First you have to invest in a domain name, even when doing paid blogging they want you to have your own domain, your own domain means hosting. More money there and once you get the website or blog up and running, well then you have to get people to it which means more money on traffic.

If you go with affiliate marketing, eventually after sometime you will figure out what works for you and what does not. Not everyone is cut out to make money online. Many people can if they learn time is key and you will not become rich over night. Start out small with one or two affiliate programs. When I say this I don’t mean sign up for 2 major programs that have 20 thousand different companies and apply to all of them. I mean apply to the program and only apply to one or two companies, that way you can get your feet wet and get use to affiliate marketing. If you decided to go that route.

Don’t forget I have been where many of you starting out have, check back on my old post and take a look at the links and programs on my sidebar, they are there to help you. I already belong to them and they have worked well for me.

Make Money Tip: Have a Backup Blog

Posted by Holly On July - 28 - 2008

Yesterday a horrible thing happened to me. On top of losing my pr on everything and anything, my personal blog. I also lost the whole blog! For some reason when I logged in I couldn’t do anything. Well I could do a few things, but I couldn’t write anything and I couldn’t change my sidebar. I also could not update the blog to the new wordpress. So I decided to do a back up and reinstall wordpress. That way it would be upgraded and ready to go. Unfortunately it looks like the backup may not have been a complete backup, even though the plug in said it was. So I’m now spending a lot of time trying to find my old post in searches and so on. This is going to take a while. The bad part is since I do paid blogging I have to get all of the post I have not been paid for up and going first. I’m almost done with that, I think!

I have a new idea, I’m going to have a storage blog, that way if something like this happends again I can do something about it. I’ll probably try to use a free blog that I will import my post into. I’m also going to change my feeds so that they publish the whole thing, not just part of it. Many will tell you to do this so you get visitors to your blog, but if I hadn’t done it I could have just imported my feed and been almost done with everything now. Hopefully you don’t have to go through this, it’s not fun.

Make Money Online, Differently

Posted by Holly On June - 29 - 2008

Many people are jumping on the make money online blog train. There are a ton of make money online blogs! Next time your checking around the internet I want you to take a close look at how these blogs are set up. Before you do that though, take a look at johnchow.com and then the others. Most of the time you Paltalk Attract 300x250will find you have a sense that you have been to that blog before, when you get that feeling think about what john chows blog looks like. Yes your not crazy they all look the same!

Here is the problem with doing that to your blog. I look at blogs that are trying to copy him exactly and think “run away” so I leave them and never come back. There are a few exceptions, but I don’t read them often. My tip for you if your starting a make money online blog is this, make it different, have a different approach, don’t copy exactly what the pro’s are doing, because it may not work for you or people will just see you as a copycat site and run away.

My advice, unless your site is about cars, don’t get a theme with one. That is the first thing that bothers me and a few other people. Find something else that you think represents money and power. I have used a home on this site and now of course I have money bags. Find something you like or make your own theme. In other words be unique so that people remember you.

Paid blogging and ignorance

Posted by Holly On June - 3 - 2008

Something I have been noticing more and more is that advertisers on most paid to blog companies are requiring that you don’t have any links, post or even mention Pay per post, IZEA and so on. I find this funny as they seem to think they they will be harmed in some way. The only thing so far that I have seen is that bloggers have been smacked by google, not the advertisers.

What I find funny is this. I have a blog that has pr, but has been banned by advertisers because I do work for Pay Per Post. This blog was Google smacked at one point, but here is the thing. I didn’t change what I did, I kept doing paid post and really in my opinion Google can bite me as Pay Per Post and Izea have made me more money then Google ever will.  Anyway back to my point.

Many bloggers use different companies and personally I think that the paid to blog companies that allow an advertiser to put this requirement in their advertisement are really making themselves look bad. I am probably not going to be using the company that allowed my blog to be banned anymore as I really am unimpressed with them anyway. I think in the past year I have done 6 jobs for them but with pay per post I have done over 200.

These are some of the decisions you have to make as a blogger. For me Pay Per Post is the main way I make money. I’m not going to drop them to make less and the sooner these advertisers see that the better off they will be as there are some very good bloggers they are missing out on because they are scared of google.

Blogs and advertising

Posted by Holly On May - 19 - 2008

If your new to making money online and your excited about it. I would recommend starting a blog if you have not already. The catch is start one on your own domain. People who have some online experience know that blogs on free programs like blogger tend to be spammy. These blogs usually don’t last long so advertisers won’t advertise on them.

If you belong to any affiliate programs whether it be for advertising products or get paid to sites. You want to remember one thing, do not spam your links on every post you make, every forum you join or every comment you make on other blogs. These links, except those on your own blog will be deleted. Trust me I’m a moderator on a forum, that is our job.

The best thing to do is get people to like you and trust you. On your blog post about yourself, talk about your interest besides making money and go from there. This of course is for your first blog, I have a total of 5 blogs and link them together often so that people can get to know me and my interest. This blog was my 4th blog and I have really just had some fun with it. I’m looking to help people, not just myself. I hope that shows in my writing. This is how you should go about a blog about money making. Don’t make it just to get referrals or a sale, make it to help people, if they sign up with your link or buy a product that was on your site, great. If not at least you helped someone. I think so many people right now want money so badly that they forget that others need it just as bad.

The point of this is to make your blog personal. I started with a general blog where I talked about anything, I did this so I could write whatever I wanted to. I wasn’t making any money at the time. I think in order to start a money making blog you need to have at least made $300 or more a month for a few months. It’s not much but many people will agree that $300 is better then nothing. So if your starting out, start with a general blog, write about yourself, about your programs and about anything else you want to. Put some advertising on the sidebar. Get to know people a little and build a reputation, then try to sell them something. People are smarter then you think when it comes to things online. They have learned not to trust everything.
