Something I didn’t plan on

Posted by Holly On May - 4 - 2008

In my quest to make money I opened a blog, Savey Spender, to do product reviews and post coupon codes for people to use. I didn’t think it would do that well and I don’t post to it often. The traffic on it is low so I figure no one reads it. Wow I was wrong. This new blog has 10 RSS subscribers already, for me that is huge as this blog has one or two I think, and my design blog that has been up for just under a year has between 20 and 30.

This is amazing to me as I have tried doing contest to get my RSS readers up, but nothing has ever worked. I leave this blog alone and I get 10. It’s just very strange, but it has made me try to post more on that blog. I’m hoping the trend continues.

Social spark and the fun you can have

Posted by Holly On April - 25 - 2008

Now that social spark is live you should check it out. I am really happy I got in on this because it is a big thing that will really help average people make some extra money. The best part is that you don’t even have to write post for them if you don’t’ want to. You can just use their sponsorship and make some money that way. I have used one on this blog and I have another one set to start on here soon. The other thing I like about social spark is that they are search engine friendly. All links are no follow and you are required to show that the post is sponsored by using a badge, like the one at the bottom of this post. I also like it because I can give my honest opinion of a product or service without worrying about meeting a preset tone.

SocialSpark is different from other pay you to blog services. One it’s a social site so you can get on and talk to people and figure out who actually writes the blogs you read. I couldn’t believe how many blogs I have looked at but had no clue that the person wrote another blog I read sometimes. It’s nice to know that way you feel like you know the person better and can enjoy their blog that much more.

For any blogger looking to make some money from home Social spark is a great way to do it. Not only does it bring more traffic to your blog by getting you out there in the network, but you meet some great people and make good friends in the process.

A slow week, but an interesting one

Posted by Holly On April - 3 - 2008

I have learned a few things this week when it comes to my blogs. I decided earlier today to do some spring cleaning and I found that many of my blog post lacked keywords and other good SEO information. I started looking at each post and tried to figure out exactly what words were best for it. Now I have a plug in that is suppose to do this for me, but apparently it doesn’t work with the new word press update so I’m looking for one that does and at the same time waiting to see if they update the one I use.

Keywords are important for 2 reasons, one being your readers can search your blog for information they need by using a keyword. This is helpful for someone who is only looking for ways to make money or get traffic. Another good reason for keywords is that search engines pick up on them and can send people to you site that way.

I use keywords to help my readers more then for the search engines. I stick to good incoming links for them they seem to work better then keywords on post. I’m still working on getting everything updated. I hope to be done sometime next week. Yes there are that many post missing keywords.

A Smorty warning

Posted by Holly On February - 19 - 2008

I found this post written on Cool Adzine interesting. It is about the PTB program Smorty. I am not using them anymore for reasons other than what is stated in the article but I do want people to know that when your start doing anything online for money you need to read the TOS and check it every few months.

Now I don’t agree with the TOS on there and when I did read it I was not happy, but I had intended to keep my blogs where they were. I have since stopped using them and moved my blogs. I still don’t have anything stating I owe them anything, oh well I don’t care. I didn’t make much with them anyway. Just a warning to anyone looking at them. Read the TOS.

Paid posting on Makin the Money

Posted by Holly On February - 19 - 2008

Pay per post has changed there TOS so that blogs that are 30 days old and have at least 10 post in those 30 days can join. I have been thinking about this, and originally I did not want to do paid posting on this blog. I’ve been thinking more and more about it and this may be a good thing. The only type of paid posting I would do would be money making ideas or business related things. Like website help or things that could help with a home based business.

I am wondering though if any of you would read these post knowing they are paid. I would not take anything weird that doesn’t live up to my standards and my reviews will be honest reviews. Let me know what you think in a comment.

A bad week

Posted by Holly On February - 15 - 2008

Making money online is not easy. Because of family issues this week I have made a whole $30 doing paid posting. My biggest money maker. I think this is the bad part about making money online. It takes time and most of that time is spent searching for the opportunities to write.

I love what I’m doing, but I also know that right now is a good time to start looking for a real world job. So just encase your wondering eventually why I’m not posting much. It could be that after 2 years of looking I have actually found work. I’m not counting on it, but it doesn’t hurt to try.

I am still going to be making money online, I have 40,000 in student loans to pay. So this will still be important. I do have good news my advertising is working well and is starting to pick up. As is my traffic. So with a little hard work it can be done.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask me. If your interested in blogging for money, check out and join my forum Blogger Love where you can get tons of information on paid blogging and have all of your questions about it answered.

A lot of work

Posted by Holly On February - 6 - 2008

Making money online is a lot of work and I have not been doing to much the last few days. I’ve been kinda out of it. I still have a good income coming to me but my traffic on a few of my blogs has gone down and I’m not posting as much as I use to.

So for anyone who is thinking that this is going to be easy, it’s not. It is a lot of work, but most of the problem with it is time and energy. You also have to be creative to make money blogging as you have to keep your readers interest. I hope that i have done that well on this blog and of course I’m always open to any questions you may have.

So far this week I have made just over $150 with just paid blogging so I’m not doing too bad. I’ve hit my money goals now I just have to hit those traffic ones.
