Expand when making money online

Posted by Holly On June - 23 - 2008

Something I learned early on in my online quest to make money was to make sure I didn’t just do one thing. I blog, but I also do mystery shopping and get paid to sites that help me get through the hard times. This past month is a great example. I have not made much blogging, but because I had a mystery shop that paid well I will not have to worry about a lack of funds. I had hoped that I could get a head, but at least I am not behind any.

When you look to making money online you want to expand into different areas. Eventually I plan to start selling jewelry or Avon again just to add to what I can do. I may even try something else. Who knows. I will always blog as I love doing it. I may cut down on the number of blogs I have though I think I now have too many.

Paid blogging and ignorance

Posted by Holly On June - 3 - 2008

Something I have been noticing more and more is that advertisers on most paid to blog companies are requiring that you don’t have any links, post or even mention Pay per post, IZEA and so on. I find this funny as they seem to think they they will be harmed in some way. The only thing so far that I have seen is that bloggers have been smacked by google, not the advertisers.

What I find funny is this. I have a blog that has pr, but has been banned by advertisers because I do work for Pay Per Post. This blog was Google smacked at one point, but here is the thing. I didn’t change what I did, I kept doing paid post and really in my opinion Google can bite me as Pay Per Post and Izea have made me more money then Google ever will.  Anyway back to my point.

Many bloggers use different companies and personally I think that the paid to blog companies that allow an advertiser to put this requirement in their advertisement are really making themselves look bad. I am probably not going to be using the company that allowed my blog to be banned anymore as I really am unimpressed with them anyway. I think in the past year I have done 6 jobs for them but with pay per post I have done over 200.

These are some of the decisions you have to make as a blogger. For me Pay Per Post is the main way I make money. I’m not going to drop them to make less and the sooner these advertisers see that the better off they will be as there are some very good bloggers they are missing out on because they are scared of google.

Social spark and the fun you can have

Posted by Holly On April - 25 - 2008

Now that social spark is live you should check it out. I am really happy I got in on this because it is a big thing that will really help average people make some extra money. The best part is that you don’t even have to write post for them if you don’t’ want to. You can just use their sponsorship and make some money that way. I have used one on this blog and I have another one set to start on here soon. The other thing I like about social spark is that they are search engine friendly. All links are no follow and you are required to show that the post is sponsored by using a badge, like the one at the bottom of this post. I also like it because I can give my honest opinion of a product or service without worrying about meeting a preset tone.

SocialSpark is different from other pay you to blog services. One it’s a social site so you can get on and talk to people and figure out who actually writes the blogs you read. I couldn’t believe how many blogs I have looked at but had no clue that the person wrote another blog I read sometimes. It’s nice to know that way you feel like you know the person better and can enjoy their blog that much more.

For any blogger looking to make some money from home Social spark is a great way to do it. Not only does it bring more traffic to your blog by getting you out there in the network, but you meet some great people and make good friends in the process.

Internet scams and get paid to

Posted by Holly On March - 25 - 2008

I wrote about this get paid to scam on my blog everything and anything and then I thought it would be good to post here as well. I have suggested a few get paid to sites in the past. I have used them and have been paid by them. The two I use are Swat Cash and Treasure Trooper.

Recently it has come to my attention that there is a site out there called pbcash that is paying you to join these sites as the admins referral. They then make money off of you at the other get paid to site. Now most people would not have a problem with this, but this site after getting a good amount of sign ups has told all of it’s users that they are scammers and will not be paying them for their hard work. It is sites like these that give Get Paid To a bad name.

Please watch out for these sites as you check out the internet. Do some research into them and make sure they have paid. If you do join a new site, which I still suggest don’t pay for anything or only pay for one thing that will get you to payout and then see if they pay. That way you are not out a ton of money. I usually when trying out a site only do offers that are free, that way I’m not out anything.

Get paid to post and for your referrals

Posted by Holly On March - 22 - 2008

If you are really good at getting referrals you should check out mylot. Right now they are giving out up to 50% of what your referrals earn. That means if they make $20 between now and May 31st you will get $10 not bad for not doing much right.

Actually mylot is a great place to meet new people and get the word out about your site. I have had a few people hop over here to check out my blog and let me know what they think. I haven’t been very active lately, but I think I’m going to try to be right now. If I can help my referrer out by posting more thats okay with me.

Get paid to and why you should use them

Posted by Holly On March - 3 - 2008

One way that I make some extra income online is to use get paid to sites. I use this money to help pay bills and to help me get traffic to my blogs. It’s always a great idea to have your money coming from many different sources.

I know many people look at get paid to sites as scams, but personally I have made over $2000 with the two sites I am with and they are both fun to use. Swat Cash is my favorite as they are much more then a get paid to site, they give out $1000 every week on the forums to one lucky member. They also have just put in a new game that is very addictive and fun to play. The other site I use is Treasure Trooper. They also have a new game: Slots! who doesn’t love that. You do have to complete some offers to play it though but it’s still fun, of course I would never recommend something you have to pay for unless it’s really good, so sign up for both of these sites is free, just click the links.

Why do I love get paid to sites so much. Well because I can get paid to try things like netflix, blockbuster and even ebay. I can get paid to get tips for google and yahoo I also can spend nothing and still make a few bucks a month. Enough to pay for a new domain every month if I wanted to on my hosting plan.

Advertising for these sites is just as important as advertising for your blog I recommend Get Paid to forums like Cash buddy cafe to advertise on for both blogs and get paid to sites. If you have a money making blog like I do they are even better to advertise on. I mention Cash Buddy Cafe because I am a mod there and I know we allow referral links and all that fun stuff in our signatures. It’s also a paid to post forum so you can earn points for posting that you can redeem later for stuff.

My point is having different ways to make money is the best way to go, you don’t want to rely on just one way because that may eventually die out and then where will you be? Having something to fall back on is always a good idea.

Paid posting on Makin the Money

Posted by Holly On February - 19 - 2008

Pay per post has changed there TOS so that blogs that are 30 days old and have at least 10 post in those 30 days can join. I have been thinking about this, and originally I did not want to do paid posting on this blog. I’ve been thinking more and more about it and this may be a good thing. The only type of paid posting I would do would be money making ideas or business related things. Like website help or things that could help with a home based business.

I am wondering though if any of you would read these post knowing they are paid. I would not take anything weird that doesn’t live up to my standards and my reviews will be honest reviews. Let me know what you think in a comment.

The truth about paid blogging

Posted by Holly On January - 26 - 2008

No this is not some reveal of a scam but a forewarning to people who are interested in paid blogging. There are going to be times where you will not get paid for the work you do. I have had this happen twice this month. Apparently my blog did not talk enough about a category that the advertiser wanted. I did talk about it, just not 20 times that week.

People are picky and you need to remember that when you get into this. I understood there issue, and I rewrote the post a little and removed all but one link, the sites were still helpful to my blog readers, I try to make sure of that.

I’ll just let it go and keep moving. My advice to people who are just starting out in the paid blogging world is to really look at you site and pick categories that the site does fit, but be open to other opinions of your site. I thought mine fit into the category, but maybe it doesn’t? I still make good money doing this so I won’t be stopping just because someone doesn’t agree that my site falls into a category. I will take there opinion into consideration and go from there.
