Makin The Money

Everyone is looking for ways to get their website or blog noticed. There are many ways to do this and in this series of post I will be covering most of them. Getting a website known is hard work and takes a lot of time and patience. It does not always take money though you should be ready to spend some on marketing.

Forum Posting/Signature Marketing

One of the best ways to get people to your site is to post in forums that allow you to have signatures. There are some people who say that forum posting will get you no where, but as you become active in the forum and people start to trust you, you will find that you can really get a lot of traffic from these sites. There are a few rules you want to follow when posting on forums.

Basics

Do NOT SPAM!

Forum admins and moderators don’t tolerate it and it makes you and your site look bad when you spam everyone. Most of the time these post will be deleted and you will be banned from the forum. Make sure to read the forum rules carefully if your not sure contact the admin, they should be very happy to help you.

Post quality and topic related post

If you want to make sales or get return traffic to your site you need people to trust you. That also means the people on the forums. If word gets around that you are a spammer or take advantage of people then you will start to see a drop in traffic, not an increase.

Be active

In order to get the traffic, you must post on the forum at least a few times a week. You want your link out there and in order to be seen you need to have fresh post.

Join more then one forum

This is really important if you have more then one website or blog and they are about different things. Find related niche forums and you will see a good increase in traffic.

Get Noticed

Start a new thread

Posting in a forum is great, but in order to really get your signature noticed you should try to start a few threads too. Subscribe to them and make sure that you check them at least once a day for new post, respond to these post and build a reputation.

Help Others

Another great way to get yourself noticed and trusted is to offer to help others out, for FREE! Yes I said free. Why? You want to build a reputation on the forum of someone who is trustworthy, now I’m not saying build a website for free, but say someone wants a different aviator, needs a banner to advertise their site, or would like a review of their blog. If you do that for free they may ask for more help later, refer others to you or at least visit your site more often.

Help the Admin

If you notice someone being rude or spamming the form send out a pm to the admin to let them know. Some forums are very busy and sometimes the staff does miss a few things.

Offer to be a moderator.

You want to be an active member first and wait to see if they are looking for moderators. A good reason to do this is that most people when joining a forum trust the moderators very quickly. If you are a moderator you can benefit from this trust with increased traffic to your sites.

I always love free things and sometimes you can find some really good information for free. One blogger is giving away ebooks free on their website. This is a great idea as it can give you traffic and maybe a few readers. Ebooks are a great way to get information out there and also your name or website.

Some people will tell you don’t waste your time with ebooks. I think if your going to try to sell them then yes don’t waste your time. They can be hard to sell and many people don’t trust them. Now if you give them away to attract website or blog visitors then I think your safe. Once you have one out and it actually works for a few people then maybe you could try selling one cheep.

As many of you who read this blog know. I have been a member of swat cash for over a year I have made over $1000 with them most of it from referrals I have gotten because the site gave them to me though there order system.

Now they have made me very happy. I have won $25 in a contest from last month. All I had to do was participate and do things I would normaly do. How is that for cool. So anyway they do contest all of the time, my next win I hope will be the $1000 weekly forum giveaway. I’ll keep my fingers crossed until then though.

You may have seen the story today on Good morning America about how people are growing mini farms in their own back yards and making money off of them. I love the idea and would do it myself but I live in the middle of farm land so there is not a huge demand for produce here. In a city though I could see it working even with a small garden

This would be a great home based business for someone who wants to stay home with the kids or just can’t work because of a disability. It’s also great as a part time job for someone who just wants some extra cash. Some of these people brought in $200 or more a month, that would pay my car insurance and a week of gas. Not too bad. It’s also an easy start up all you need is a yard and some seeds and a few restaurants or neighbors to sell to. Keep your prices lower then the distributors the restaurants normally buy from and your in business.

The best part is if your a stay at home mom or dad you can get the kids involved and get them out and doing something that helps the family and gives them the much needed exercise kids need. Oh and don’t forget about the bonding time with them.

I am a member of a few social networks. One of them is blog catalog. I applied yesterday to have this blog put onto my account. I got an email this morning saying it was rejected as it appears my blog is around only to make me money or it is a spam blog. The first makes sense to me as it is a way for me to make money. It’s also a way for me to help others make money, but unless you actually read it that way you probably wont’ see it.

I’m okay with not having it approved. It’s not a big deal. I just find it interesting that my blog is considered a spam blog. I usually picture those as being without original content and tons of google ad’s all over the place. Oh and they usually have a pr 8 or something stupid like that because they spam to get links.

So my blog apparently is a spam blog. maybe I need to make some changes, like talk about SEO that I know nothing about. Maybe I’ll find a guest blogger instead. That way you may actually learn something useful. I know a little, but it would only help out someone just getting started online I think.

I use a site called swat cash and recently they added a game to there site that is a world attack type game each member gets a base and you can attack other members for points that can be transfered to the site currency to buy stuff. I love this game as I know I will be making a lot of money from it.

Right now I would have had enough to by two $100 pay pal payouts if I hadn’t spent some of it on more things for the map. So far I should be able to get one $100 pay pal payout. Oh and that doesn’t include the money I’ve gotten from the other stuff on the site. Swat Cash is a great way to make some extra money that could go toward advertising or that new ipod or bills. Mine will be going toward bills. Anyway this is just one more way I make money and now I can make even more from them. Check them out.
