Check Your Search Rank

Posted by Holly On July - 17 - 2008

One of the most important things that you need to do when trying to make money online is to make sure your website or blog is actually seen by people searching for your topic or product. Many people just search the keywords they have and hope they can find their site. This takes time and can be very annoying if your site is not listed on the first or second page.

There is a better way to check these things the one I like to use is the Fire Fox add on Rank Checker. It gives a ton of information on any site and keyword you choose. My design blog ranks 97th on Google and 11th on Yahoo for interior design tips, I consider that very good considering I hadn’t been targeting that keyword. This blog doesn’t show up for anything. I was expecting that as I also have not done a lot of SEO on this blog either. It’s also a very competitive market and since I’m not trying to make money with this blog I’m not going to stress about advertising it. Hopefully people find it helpful and tell others or link to me.

For my other blogs and my get paid to post forum, traffic is very important. So I am checking to see where I stand and what I can do to improve it. Right now I’m concentrating on my design blog and the keyword interior design tips. I’m also working on my forum with the keywords get paid to post forum, and make money online forum. You have to know what keywords you want in order to even start a good SEO project. Having the Rank Checker tool can really help you do this, that way you can start on words you may already have a good rank in, but not a great rank.

Cash and Chat is up and running

Posted by Holly On July - 10 - 2008

I decided as my forum was just sitting there and I couldn’t do any more mod installs for a while that I was going to go ahead and open it up to the public. So if you want to join a great get paid to post forum you should really check it out.

Cash and Chat I hope will be a little different from other paid to post as many just are filled with people only looking to make money. Yes that’s a good goal but some are very obsessed with it and we do welcome them, but I also hope to draw people that are looking for a great community and some fun. I do allow signatures in my forum and there is a down line area for your affiliate programs if anyone is interested in that. Anyway I hope you at least check it out and let me know what you think.

Top 5 list of free website builders

Posted by Holly On June - 16 - 2008

I have decided to let you guys in on a secret I have. I make money blogging. Okay it’s not a big secret. But I also make money off of websites that are just sitting there doing nothing. Best of all they are free to make. So here is my top 5 list of website makers,

5. Doodle Kit, this one I honestly have not tried, but a friend of mine uses it and I have seen it in action. It easy to use and is recommended by PC World.

4. Bravenet, this one also offers free hosting and a bunch of cool toys. I use the extra stuff occasionally on some of my other sites.

3. Google page creator. I’ve only played with this a little but it’s easy to use.

2. Blue Voda, I tried this one a year or so ago and loved it, but didn’t want to have them host the domain. I wanted it on my own. The product is still good though.

1. Geocities, most people know yahoo and trust them, that is why these guys are number one in my book. I have 2 email accounts with them and that means 2 geocities domains.

A very helpful blog and a life saver

Posted by Holly On May - 30 - 2008

In my surfing online I found a very helpful blog. I have been reading it for about 2 weeks now and I have to say it is probably the best find I have seen yet. Court’s Internet marketing school is a down to earth approach to INTERNET marketing. She has some wonderful tips and she explains them in English, not geek that no one understands. Kind of the same thing I’m trying to do, but she knows alot more about marketing then I do.

One recent post I found helpful was the one on selling advertising on your site. I have always wanted to do this myself but was never exactly sure how to go about it. I set up advertising prices on this blog, but have not had much luck with it. I’m going to be using some of her advice on this blog and my Interior design blog.  I am hoping that using these steps will help me make an extra income without all the time I have to put in now. I want to be able to in a year make extra money without having to spend hours at a computer as I hope to have a job then since I will be graduating from collage.

You may wonder why I am pointing you to this site when I want you to read this blog, well because it’s helpful and you can use the tips and programs I tell you about in conjunction with what this blog has to say. I know I can’t give you this information myself, so I will show you someone who can.

Get $25 and send money online for free!

Posted by Holly On April - 14 - 2008

Over at Brain Foggles I read about this great new site where you can send money for free. The site is called Revolution Money Exchange and you get $25 for signing up. They also have a great referral program where you can get $10 per referral. A great idea if you ask me.

I like it because it’s easy to use, has a really nice set up and works kinda like paypal, but no fees. You can even collect money from people with a button on your website. I’m thinking I’m going to use this as a donation type thing, that way it’s separate from my other money and I can use it for just my website or charity I choose.

I also think it would be a great thing for my family, my sisters live a distance away and if we need to send money it goes to the post office and we have to wait a few days to get it. Now we can send it with no fees and maybe the $25 for free will help to convince them to sign up.

If your interested, and don’t mind helping me make $10 you can sign up by clicking the image below. Thank you in advance!

Why I love bluehost

Posted by Holly On March - 27 - 2008

I have been haveing some issues with my forum, Blogger Love, it got so bad that I had to delete everything and start over. I got all of that done and then it wouldn’t let me install anything on that domain. I ended up writeing blue host support and they fixed it. Then it blue hostdidn’t show up so they fixed it again. Then it wouldn’t let me install it so they fixed it and installed the forum for me. I’m sure the person just thought I was dumb and couldn’t do it, but either way it got done and pretty quickly to.

This is one thing I look for in a hosting provider good customer service. I had web.com at one point and they were horrable, they took my money and ran when I told them I didn’t want the service anymore as they cheeted me. I took it as a lession learned and I will never use them again.
