How I Make Money

Posted by Holly On January - 14 - 2008

I know you have heard all of the following before:

Make $1000 a day!

Earn 1 million a year!

Quit your job and make more money!

Fire you boss, make more money!

The problem with this is that you don’t make more money, you can’t fire your boss and you don’t make $1000 a year let alone a day.  Why? Well it’s simple, you can’t make money using their programs because you are not them. If you have thousands of contacts that trust you enough to sign up for this program you might be able to make something, but don’t expect these people to ever talk to you again.

People who sell the get rich quick schemes are only out to do one thing. Make money off of you! They make there money by selling you the e-book that  you read and never look at again. I know you don’t. I didn’t. The ideas in these e-books may work for a few people, but most of the time you need money to get started and to promote the e-book or the business plan offered.

In other words you would need at least $5000 to start this business and you will be in a business that scams people out of there money. That means that at some point you could be sued. Not a good idea when your trying to make your life better right? The other problem is that most of these programs do not work for anyone who is not in the united states.  Sorry, they just don’t.

So how do you earn money online, without all the scams and still have time to enjoy life. You don’t. I’m sorry but this e-book is not about how to get rich quick without work. This e-book will show you how to make a legitimate income with hard work and dedication.

How I got Started

I had no job, no money at all and was able to start making money online. Have I reached my goal? No, at least not at the time I am writing this. Maybe by the time you are reading it I have.

What did I do. Well first I went through all the wrong things. I bought the e-books that promised me a quick buck, I wasted money that I really didn’t have.  Luckily I did this before I lost my job. After losing my job I was more careful and that was when I found some get paid to sites.

Yes get paid to sites can be small time stuff. But you can also make a good amount from them if you are good at referrals. I found 2 that I liked and have stuck with them for just over a year now. I’m happy with them and they add to my income. This is the big thing to remember every little bit counts!

The sites, Treasure trooper and swat cash  have given me just over  $2000 this past year. Not too bad considering I didn’t do too much. Most of that was referrals and bonuses. Yes they give you bonuses. Plus you get to try different products that your interested in. The big thing to remember with these sites is not to go crazy and sign up for everything, do things you are interested in and go from there.

The Wide World Of Blogging

A few months after I found these get paid to sites I found a forum, it was a get paid to forum and I made some wonderful friends there eventually I was asked to be a moderator and I accepted and still am one today. These people changed my life in more ways then they could ever have imagined.

One of the moderators decided that they were tired of dealing with the scam artist that was running the forum we moderated, he didn’t do his job and he never paid people. So she decided to start her own and Cash Buddy Café was born. Now here is where my life change starts. One day they were talking about blogs. I knew what I blog was, I had one on myspace that no one ever read. But they introduced me to blogger and told me to get one there, that is where I also learned about googles adsence and that I could get it. Yes I was that new to all of this.

So I signed up and started blogging. A month or so later I found a site that would pay me to blog. Blogsvertise was an answer to my prayers I thought and signed up. I got a few jobs but nothing big. I still continued to blog a little, I made about $100 a month my first 3 months between blogging and the gpt sites. I thought I was doing well. Considering $100 was better then nothing. I made more on the gpt sites for the next few months. Anywhere from $50-$200. But I found that I really wanted to make more blogging. I had just started a new blog about interior design and really wanted to get that off the ground.

In April of 2007 I found Pay Per Post and I knew this was different. There was a chat room where I could learn more. They had some great offers and really helpful members. Now I was in business, or so I thought. I didn’t have the rankings to make the big bucks, but I kept at it and eventually got somewhere.

In May I went into the hospital. I found out that I was diabetic. Now I really needed to make money. I had other debt that I hadn’t been able to pay much on and now I have a hospital bill and other medical bills that I may have to pay for the rest of my life. That is when I got serious about blogging. I bought my own domain soon after that, but didn’t know about hosting. A few months later when I got the extra money to pay for hosting I bought it and never looked back.

My average earning doing paid blogging was about $200 a month at this point, It’s not bad for me since I live with my parents, but it wasn’t going to pay my bills. But I kept reminding myself things take time. I didn’t have the extra money to put into my blog to advertise like many others do. I didn’t know people very well either so that has effected my traffic..

So what did I decide to do at that point. I started a forum called Blogger Love. It’s still a small forum, but I have met some great people who love what they do. It has not made me any money, but it has allowed me to make some connections that I wouldn’t have otherwise.

Soon after my forum started I got a jump on the page rank of my blogs. Now I was in business! I was making around $350 the first month and I loved it. Then the big google smack got me and I thought the http://www.bluehost.com/track/cristlegirl/world was over. The good news, I made over $600 the next month. The month after that December 2007 I made $650 doing paid blogging.

Now to some that may not be a lot, but keep in mind I worked retail and that was a months earnings for me. Also keep in mind that I had nothing to start with. I had and still don’t have the extra to advertise and I don’t have many visitors to my blog. About 50-100 a day. I like the number, but I would also like to see more.

Since then I have averaged between $500 and $800 per month with a combination of all of these makeing money programs. My forum unfortunatly was not a huge success and has been closed, but I may start another one with a different theme to it over the summer.

Paid blogging has been a life savor for me. I am able to start catching up on my debt and maybe by the time I graduate I will have all but my student loans paid off and start life off better then I would have before.

So if you want a free way to start making an income and you can write well in English check out paid blogging and keep checking back on this website for more info on my new ways to make money through other types of blog advertising.
