How I make money Online

Makeing Money Online Is Not Easy

Posted by Holly On July - 30 - 2008

That was something that I just read from someone trying to make money online. This person has been working hard and was told it was easy and anyone can do it. Well I’m telling you it’s not and not everyone can do it. It takes time hard work and some investment.

Now if your just looking for $50 a month spending money that’s different, but if you really want to make an income you may be able to live off of, now that’s a whole other story. First you have to invest in a domain name, even when doing paid blogging they want you to have your own domain, your own domain means hosting. More money there and once you get the website or blog up and running, well then you have to get people to it which means more money on traffic.

If you go with affiliate marketing, eventually after sometime you will figure out what works for you and what does not. Not everyone is cut out to make money online. Many people can if they learn time is key and you will not become rich over night. Start out small with one or two affiliate programs. When I say this I don’t mean sign up for 2 major programs that have 20 thousand different companies and apply to all of them. I mean apply to the program and only apply to one or two companies, that way you can get your feet wet and get use to affiliate marketing. If you decided to go that route.

Don’t forget I have been where many of you starting out have, check back on my old post and take a look at the links and programs on my sidebar, they are there to help you. I already belong to them and they have worked well for me.

Make Money Tip: Have a Backup Blog

Posted by Holly On July - 28 - 2008

Yesterday a horrible thing happened to me. On top of losing my pr on everything and anything, my personal blog. I also lost the whole blog! For some reason when I logged in I couldn’t do anything. Well I could do a few things, but I couldn’t write anything and I couldn’t change my sidebar. I also could not update the blog to the new wordpress. So I decided to do a back up and reinstall wordpress. That way it would be upgraded and ready to go. Unfortunately it looks like the backup may not have been a complete backup, even though the plug in said it was. So I’m now spending a lot of time trying to find my old post in searches and so on. This is going to take a while. The bad part is since I do paid blogging I have to get all of the post I have not been paid for up and going first. I’m almost done with that, I think!

I have a new idea, I’m going to have a storage blog, that way if something like this happends again I can do something about it. I’ll probably try to use a free blog that I will import my post into. I’m also going to change my feeds so that they publish the whole thing, not just part of it. Many will tell you to do this so you get visitors to your blog, but if I hadn’t done it I could have just imported my feed and been almost done with everything now. Hopefully you don’t have to go through this, it’s not fun.

I Have Learned Something

Posted by Holly On July - 25 - 2008

A week ago I went to log into my swat cash account and could not. Now I only maybe did 2 offers over the past month and maybe another 2- 3 the month before that, but apparently something went wrong and I’m banned. Here’s the fun part I have no idea what and they have not messaged me back about it, so I have decided that they really are not worth my time. Part of me is mad, the other understands this is something they must do. The part that bugs me is that I really just don’t know what happened, it may be something that I had no control over. Such as my brothers friends who come over and use the computer. It would just be nice to know what happened. It’s okay though as I am working on my affiliate marketing and hope to make much more with that.

This is one lesson I think most people starting out will learn eventually, not everything goes your way, not everything works out. There are many many things that are out of your control when it comes to making money online. That is why I have more then one way to do things. Luckily I wasn’t making a ton with Swat cash, but if I didn’t have these other programs and websites I would really be screwed.

Get More Traffic To Your Site

Posted by Holly On July - 24 - 2008

I have always said that forums, like my get paid to post forum are great ways to increase your traffic and get the word out about your site or product. There is another new forum out that could really help you to do that. It’s called Firestorm and pretty much it’s there so that members can help other members out in areas that they need help with.

Their slogan is get a firestorm of traffic and it does work. I have not been able to be on as much as I would like to be, but I did get a good increase in Technorati links from them and a few more people following me on twitter.  Right now it’s a small forum, but worth the time as more people will be joining everyday. Like my forum they also allow links in their signatures. So if your looking for back links check both of these forums out.

Many people may tell you that forums are useless for back links, but trust me I have done the research and they are not. I am in the top 15 in yahoo for one blog because of my signature in 3 forums I use. So what do you have to lose, adding a signature takes a few minutes and so does posting a few times a week. There really is no reason not to check this method out.

Check Your Search Rank

Posted by Holly On July - 17 - 2008

One of the most important things that you need to do when trying to make money online is to make sure your website or blog is actually seen by people searching for your topic or product. Many people just search the keywords they have and hope they can find their site. This takes time and can be very annoying if your site is not listed on the first or second page.

There is a better way to check these things the one I like to use is the Fire Fox add on Rank Checker. It gives a ton of information on any site and keyword you choose. My design blog ranks 97th on Google and 11th on Yahoo for interior design tips, I consider that very good considering I hadn’t been targeting that keyword. This blog doesn’t show up for anything. I was expecting that as I also have not done a lot of SEO on this blog either. It’s also a very competitive market and since I’m not trying to make money with this blog I’m not going to stress about advertising it. Hopefully people find it helpful and tell others or link to me.

For my other blogs and my get paid to post forum, traffic is very important. So I am checking to see where I stand and what I can do to improve it. Right now I’m concentrating on my design blog and the keyword interior design tips. I’m also working on my forum with the keywords get paid to post forum, and make money online forum. You have to know what keywords you want in order to even start a good SEO project. Having the Rank Checker tool can really help you do this, that way you can start on words you may already have a good rank in, but not a great rank.

Traffic Loss

Posted by Holly On July - 16 - 2008

The bad thing about blogs and websites is that you have to keep your traffic up. I have noticed a huge decrease in my traffic on all of my blogs the last few weeks. I know a lot of this has to do with summer and everyone being outside and enjoying life, but that doesn’t mean that my work is done. I still have to get visitors to my site so that I can make some cash.

I am trying a few new things, like ppc advertising for one blog that I didn’t do before. I’m also joining several more social networking sites and putting up rss feeds on them. These are two very good ways to get some more traffic to your site and I recommend to anyone who can do this to do it.

Remember having a website or blog is work, you can’t just put it up there and expect to make millions without doing anything.

Get Paid To Post On Forums

Posted by Holly On July - 12 - 2008

It was a funny thing I did yesterday. I went to John Chow’s blog to drop off and entrecard and I started reading about paid forum posting. Now the first thing that pops into my head is spam posting that I usually delete from my forums. So I of course commented and said this just would not work and I believe the kind of posting he was talking about would not. He was talking about advertisers paying you to post about their product on a forum. Now I’m sure the money is good, but I don’t believe you would get paid if the post was deleted and if it was a post on my forum, it would be deleted.

So how can you get paid to post on a forum. Well after surfing around I found a forum that talked about webmasters hireing people to post on their new or inactive forums. I was interested in how this worked as I have just started my forum Cash and Chat. Now I don’t have the money to pay someone to post on there right now, but who knows it might be helpful. The best part about this site is that you are paid to post on that forum and you have to post relevant topics and ideas. It’s just a way for the forum owner to get post up that people can respond to and get the forum moving.

I’m thinking I may just see if I can start doing this. I love forums and I post already in a few daily. I wouldn’t mind makeing a few cents for something I do anyway! If your interested in either getting paid to post on forums or paying people to post on yours then check out Wired Flame

Cash and Chat is up and running

Posted by Holly On July - 10 - 2008

I decided as my forum was just sitting there and I couldn’t do any more mod installs for a while that I was going to go ahead and open it up to the public. So if you want to join a great get paid to post forum you should really check it out.

Cash and Chat I hope will be a little different from other paid to post as many just are filled with people only looking to make money. Yes that’s a good goal but some are very obsessed with it and we do welcome them, but I also hope to draw people that are looking for a great community and some fun. I do allow signatures in my forum and there is a down line area for your affiliate programs if anyone is interested in that. Anyway I hope you at least check it out and let me know what you think.
