Makin The Money

Today I’m getting some cash. Unfortunately most of it will go to a Laptop and getting my car fixed, but some of it I will invest in my blog. I would love to put it toward this blog, but unfortunately this is a very expensive niche and since this is not where I make my money I’ll keep this blog as mostly a word of mouth and free advertising thing.

Most people don’t realize this part of the whole make money blogging thing, you actually have to get traffic to your site and get people to stay in order to make money. Yes you can do paid posting or ppc ads and make some cash, but trust me the big bloggers spend money advertising. They look at the big picture and not the small one.

I have decided to spend most of my advertising money on my home decorating tips blog as I think this one has the best potental to be a big deal. It’s also a hard niche to get into but it’s not something where your going to get the exact same information over and over.  So again I’m going to let all of you know how this works for me. I figure you at least can learn from my mistakes right?

Swat cash decided this month to give away 50 free clicks in their paid to click section to all members. This is great as I am always looking for a way to get some extra traffic and exposure. The catch to this giveaway is that you have to be a member so sign up and check them out.

I love Swat Cash because they give away so much. Every week they give away $1000 to one lucky forum member who has 50 vialed post or more. They also have some great contest and other fun prizes. I’m also addicted to their map game where you can attack other members and earn points. All and all a fun time and they actually pay unlike most sites. I’ve been with them for a long time now and have made well over $1000 with them.

In my quest to make money I opened a blog, Savey Spender, to do product reviews and post coupon codes for people to use. I didn’t think it would do that well and I don’t post to it often. The traffic on it is low so I figure no one reads it. Wow I was wrong. This new blog has 10 RSS subscribers already, for me that is huge as this blog has one or two I think, and my design blog that has been up for just under a year has between 20 and 30.

This is amazing to me as I have tried doing contest to get my RSS readers up, but nothing has ever worked. I leave this blog alone and I get 10. It’s just very strange, but it has made me try to post more on that blog. I’m hoping the trend continues.

You may have seen the story today on Good morning America about how people are growing mini farms in their own back yards and making money off of them. I love the idea and would do it myself but I live in the middle of farm land so there is not a huge demand for produce here. In a city though I could see it working even with a small garden

This would be a great home based business for someone who wants to stay home with the kids or just can’t work because of a disability. It’s also great as a part time job for someone who just wants some extra cash. Some of these people brought in $200 or more a month, that would pay my car insurance and a week of gas. Not too bad. It’s also an easy start up all you need is a yard and some seeds and a few restaurants or neighbors to sell to. Keep your prices lower then the distributors the restaurants normally buy from and your in business.

The best part is if your a stay at home mom or dad you can get the kids involved and get them out and doing something that helps the family and gives them the much needed exercise kids need. Oh and don’t forget about the bonding time with them.

A few minutes ago I was reading the Bloggers Guide to SEO on blog about your blog. I love reading things from them as they are always interesting and helpful. This blog in particular is great as they helped with the grand opening of my Forum for Bloggers. The SEO information is basic, but easy to use so I wanted to share the link with you.

As I have said before I don’t know much about SEO, but when I find a post I think will help my readers I will let you know about it. This post is one of those post and I have to say there are a few things I have learned from it. It’s short simple and sweet, enjoy! One tip they have is to use the wordpress SEO plug in. I have this on all of my blogs but I have not used it on all of them. I will be changing this soon.

If you are really good at getting referrals you should check out mylot. Right now they are giving out up to 50% of what your referrals earn. That means if they make $20 between now and May 31st you will get $10 not bad for not doing much right.

Actually mylot is a great place to meet new people and get the word out about your site. I have had a few people hop over here to check out my blog and let me know what they think. I’ve decided to add my top spots to 3 of my blogs. I’m going to add it to this one tomorrow. I’m going to be useing the money earned from them to help my mother who is now extreamly sick pay her bills. The price to be on this blog is only going to be $1, my personal blog everything and anything is also $1 and my diabetes blog is $3 that money is being split between my medical bills and my moms, thats why it’s more.
