Makin The Money

I was doing well, or so I thought at the beginning of the month, now I have made a lot less then I did last month and hope that I will get lucky next month with the programs that pay me weekly and bi-weekly. This is something that everyone who is trying to make money online needs to be ready for. I have enough to get me what I need to have, but I’ll have no extra money.

Sometimes this stuff happens and I hope unlike me you have an actual job to fall back on. I still belive that is why I don’t have the traffic that is needed to really get my blogs and forum off the ground. I don’t have the $500 to invest in a good paid to click program or buying links on sites. Eventually I hope to be able to find work and keep working on my blogs.

So for this post my advice to you is still to be prepared for anything, do not rely on online income to pay your bills until you can make enough to pay your bills and save at least 20% of what you make for the slow times.  At that point you might be able to quit your job and work for yourself, until then, keep that job.

I have decided that I’m going to try something that other Make Money Bloggers have done. I’m going to put a few pictures of celebriatyes up and see if my traffic increases. Yes thats what those pictures are on these blogs for, not just for you men to stare at. My first one is Of Angelina Jolie, because I like her, she’s an awesome actress and if I was a guy I would want to sleep with her so she’s first. For the women who read this blog. I will be adding a guy very soon I promise.

The reasion I want to try this is simple, does it really work. Right now I am not doing any advertising for this blog besides entrecard.  I will let you all know if it works at the end of the month.

I have always said that forums, like my get paid to post forum are great ways to increase your traffic and get the word out about your site or product. There is another new forum out that could really help you to do that. It’s called Firestorm and pretty much it’s there so that members can help other members out in areas that they need help with.

Their slogan is get a firestorm of traffic and it does work. I have not been able to be on as much as I would like to be, but I did get a good increase in Technorati links from them and a few more people following me on twitter.  Right now it’s a small forum, but worth the time as more people will be joining everyday. Like my forum they also allow links in their signatures. So if your looking for back links check both of these forums out.

Many people may tell you that forums are useless for back links, but trust me I have done the research and they are not. I am in the top 15 in yahoo for one blog because of my signature in 3 forums I use. So what do you have to lose, adding a signature takes a few minutes and so does posting a few times a week. There really is no reason not to check this method out.

I have now found out that I can not buy a house until I pay off most of my debt. So I will hopefully be benefiting you more by adding to my money making arsenal. I’m working on a few things that I will be telling you more about later. Hopefully they work out okay.

One thing I have to stress is that making money online is not easy, it involves a lot of work, time and some money to start. Yes you can get a blogger blog for free and do paid posting and sell advertising and have adsence on there, but eventually if you want to be taken seriously you will need to by your own domain and have hosting.

One way I am going to help this blog out is to write about making money online for articles I will be submitting to websites. Hopefully I can help some people along the way, along with making my self more money. Articles are a great way to get people to check out your website or blog and maybe even buy a few things if your selling anything. Try it, but make sure what you write is good, clean of affiliate links and benefits not only you getting traffic, but the person reading it.

I wrote the other day about not being able to get traffic to many of my blogs. Today on my design blog I have gotten over 700 visitors because of one post about self watering pots. Apparently I just need to find more interesting and new things to talk about!

The best part about all of this unplanned traffic is that I have used widgetbucks ad’s on that site, but Saturday I switched to a large banner where I get paid per visitor. So I should be seeing a large increase in my commissions within the next few days. I love their new widget. I have made much more now then I did before.

Oh and did I mention that post also got over 400 visits yesterday.

I have noticed a drop in my traffic on most of my blogs. I think a lot of it has to do with my lack of time to write, that will only last another 2 weeks and then I’ll have more time. Until then I have decided to try another new way to get my sites out there. Blog upp is a new way I have found to get my blogs advertised for free. Right now I don’t have money to pay for advertising and I probably won’t for a while, but thats okay since you can find many ways to advertise for free.

The best part about Blog upp is that you don’t actually have to sign up for anything, you just place the widget on your site after you give them your URL and that’s it. As you can see I am testing it out with this blog. It hasn’t done much yet, but I just put it up yesterday.  I’ll keep you updated as to how it goes.

I always love free things and sometimes you can find some really good information for free. One blogger is giving away ebooks free on their website. This is a great idea as it can give you traffic and maybe a few readers. Ebooks are a great way to get information out there and also your name or website.

Some people will tell you don’t waste your time with ebooks. I think if your going to try to sell them then yes don’t waste your time. They can be hard to sell and many people don’t trust them. Now if you give them away to attract website or blog visitors then I think your safe. Once you have one out and it actually works for a few people then maybe you could try selling one cheep.

I decided this month to up my advertising on Entrecard. I have started dropping more cards and buying more advertisements, but I have not noticed a huge increase in traffic. I have been doing this on many of my blogs and I have not gotten anything from it.

I think most people now have a favorites list they go to and thats it, or they only drop on cards in their category or something. Everyone has a right to do as they please but I’m finding I’m not very happy with the lack of traffic from them. Of course I will still use them as one or two visitors is better then none.
